Where in the World Wednesday: London Edition

Where in the world are you?

This afternoon, I landed in London, baby! If you get that reference, I already love you.

What are you doing there?

A whole lot. I wanted the first leg of my long-term travel journey to be full-on fun and I don’t think it will disappoint. Just today, I schlepped my bags all around the crowded London Underground, checked into my charming South Kensington hostel, attempted (and failed) to gain late entry into Wimbledon, and strolled around my new backyard, Hyde Park.

I have a couple of solo days here that I’ll spend primarily at Wimbledon and museum hopping (all of the museums in London are free!) Then, my sister will join me for another day at Wimbledon and a couple more days of sightseeing before we head to The Cotswolds to live out our dream of living in the English countryside.

In short, London has already been treating me well and I can’t wait to see what this week will bring.

What are you currently reading?

I wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t reading a book set in London, would I? I’m reading Victoria: The Queen: An Intimate biography of the Woman who Ruled an Empire and it’s fulfilling my every bookish need. I’m especially excited to hit up the Victoria & Albert Museum tomorrow after learning about its namesake.

What are you thinking about these days?

I’m relishing in the small changes that life without a 9-to-5 brings like an alarm clock free lifestyle and a to-do list that is actually done. I’m not sure if it has truly hit me yet though. Only time will tell!

Where are you going to next?

Next Wednesday, I’ll be on a train to Edinburgh, Scotland having spent a considerable amount of time here in London and a couple of days exploring the quaint towns in the English countryside.
